The Patient List is the primary access point to patient files within your LAB TRACKER™ HIV software. The list is scrollable and intelligent: just enter the first letter of the patient’s last name and click on the name to be viewed. You may also search by full name, or patient ID. Hide/Show makes it easy to suppress patient information. This page also sums up the number of active patients in your database.
Lab results are displayed in spreadsheet format with most recent data shown first. You have complete control over tests and how they are displayed. Assign tests by using templates: CBC, Chem Panel, Urinalysis, etc. Color coding allows you to quickly identify results outside of the normal range.
Quickly view lab results and therapies across the entire practice by utilizing the Graphs tab. For example, graph and compare the changes in viral load and CD4 of patients taking tenofovir, emtricitabine, and efavirenz against those taking zidovudine, lamivudine, and atazanavir/ritonavir.
LAB TRACKER™ HIV lets you generate many different types of graphs. Any value or combination of values can be graphed from the laboratory results screen. By default, LAB TRACKER™ HIV graphs CD4 counts and viral load and compares them to ARV therapy over time. This graph and trend analysis allows you to see whether a patient is responding to a particular therapy. It also provides a snapshot of a patient’s treatment history and progress, which can be printed and given to patients to help encourage adherence.
The Clinic/Dth sub-tab allows you to track and readily identify important information such as:
- Clinical problems, infectious diseases, allergies, and decision support
- HIV/AIDS diagnosis dates, CDC stage
- ART details like viral load, CD4 count
- Patient Consent
- Ongoing health risk problems
- Summary of details provided in other tabs
The Decision Support tab can replace your “reminder” system. LAB TRACKER™ HIV generates this report for you: pulling information from various parts of the software program. You can open or print the screen before your patient encounter in order to review routine testing and immunizations. The list is customizable.
For practices managing patients with hepatitis co-infection, LAB TRACKER™ HIV includes a dedicated Liver Pathology tab. Record results from liver biopsies and other key indicators.
You can begin recording a patient encounter in the Visits tab. Depending on the type of visit, LAB TRACKER™ HIV will open relevant areas to facilitate the process. For example, a “new” visit will open the Initial Evaluation screen, where you can record vital signs, SOAP notes, adherence, STD risk assessment, counseling, and any history of substance abuse.
The SOAP Note tab allows you to record notes from the exam. Simply right-click and select from a number of customizable drop-down lists. In this example, this entry under “Assessment” was made with two quick mouse clicks:
Labs: drawn on 06/13/05. Viral load remains undetectable. T helper cell count is 795 and this is a decrease as compared to last set drawn on 07/22/04 which revealed absolute number 900.
